Group Therapy Optinos

The group format is one of the most powerful therapeutic experiences for healing. Your therapist may recommend group therapy or group support to you. Alternatively, you may want to be a part of a therapy community with people who are working toward similar goals in their personal journeys. Either way, TARC wants to offer groups that are supportive, meaningful, and vehicles for your growth. See below to learn more about TARC's current groups.

Groups For Women Who've Been Betrayed
by a Loved One's Sexual Behavior

Facing Heartbreak Group
Begins Tuesday, September 15th - Ends Tuesday, November 10th
Tuesdays from 4:30-6:30 for 9 weeks
Meets via Zoom (you will receive the link once you've registered for the group)

The Facing Heartbreak group is a therapy/process-oriented group, using the workbook Facing Heartbreak as a foundation for walking through the first 7 tasks of partner recovery. Each week will focus on a chapter from the book. Group members will share their feelings, thoughts, and experiences from the activities in that week's chapters. Each group member must have a copy of the workbook and be prepared to complete the assignments from the week's chapter so that everyone can participate equally in the group experience. The workbook can be found by clicking https://www.amazon.com/Facing-Heartbreak-Recovery-Partners-Addicts/dp/098327133X/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=facing+heartbreak&qid=1597069925&sr=8-2.

Essential Recovery in 3 Parts

The Essential Recovery group is includes three 4-week courses this fall.  Although the three courses are designed to fit together, they are stand-alone entities, and participants can attend any or all of the 4-week sections. While the group will be educational in nature, each participant must have an individual therapist with whom they are meeting regularly. If you do not have an individual therapist, please contact the group facilitator, Alex Wright, to get therapy set up.

Part 1
Begins Thursday, September 17th - Ends Thursday, September 27th
Thursdays from 12:30-2:30
Meets via Zoom (you will receive the link once you've registered for the group)

Essential Recovery: What Matters Most - Our lives unfold along the lines of what we desire most. The problem is we have many desires, conscious and unconscious, and these are often in conflict. By clarifying what we truly want, our lives flow more smoothly and with more satisfaction. This course will help you uncover what it is that you truly want in your life, which is the first and most important step in making it a reality.

Part 2
Begins Thursday, October 8th - Ends Thursday, October 29th
Thursdays from 12:30-2:30
Meets via Zoom (you will receive the link once you've registered for the group)

Essential Recovery: Being Ourselves in Relationships - This course will take us on a deep dive into family systems theory, principles, and practice. We will look at the main principles of family systems theory and explore our own family patterns and dynamics. Having first examined what it is we truly want in the first course; we then learn how to maintain that awareness while being in relationship with others.

Part 3
Begins Thursday, November 12th - Ends Thursday, December 10th
Thursdays from 12:30-2:30
Meets via Zoom (you will receive the link once you've registered for the group)

Essential Recovery: Integrating Body, Heart, Mind, and Soul - The last 4 weeks will be a deep exploration of what it truly means to be human: body, heart, mind, and soul. As we better understand each part of ourselves and how these parts are connected, we naturally integrate into a more harmonious sense of being whole.

If you are interested in joining any of the Essential Recovery groups, please reach out to Alex Wright by email or phone at (423) 463-0031.
